Additionally, people appreciate silence. Interacting with a phone is not the same as crowds of people shouting at their meta glasses while commuting

It’s a constant “You’re wrong, I’m right” type of discourse, with the occasional very disturbing video thrown at you while you take a short break.

I meant repetitive processes more in the sense of routines.

I don’t think rituals are THE path to happiness, but there’s definitely a certain sense of Ikigai (if that’s even a thing) in the repetitive processes that bring you joy.

We’re always pursuing maximum convenience. Self driving cars, full automation, capsule espresso machines.

I don’t mind grinding my coffee by hand. 100 turns in the morning. Rituals over convenience.

Figma’s current extreme valuation either means people see a huge market opportunity with non-yet customers, or a huge potential with existing customers. I fear we will get poorer.

But I also ended up with a couple dns records less when visiting my server cpanel. I only asked what dns record was causing a conflict.

It selected two or three and deleted them, even pressing yes in the “are you sure” popup modal.

At least in the ones close to Hamburg. I usually go to Travemünde. In the past I’ve ignored the ticket machines, but not today. I noticed like 10 guys checking the tickets and fining people. It’s absurd.

Curious about this. I research and research and always end up thinking about a 2nd hand refurbished iPod.

Every beach in Portugal is open to everyone, locals and tourists alike. In Germany you have to buy a ticket. I can’t get used to it.

Years ago, this documentary inspired me to visit Myanmar: the most beautiful country I’ve been to, with the friendliest people I’ve ever met. What they’re currently going through breaks my heart.

On a side note: I highly recommend watching Samsara and Baraka.

Tofu has been our weekend breakfast, for as long as I can remember. Recipe invented by me: sauté garlic and onions, then sliced mushrooms, a grated potato, and some grated smoked tofu. Photos are from I was pretending to be a food blogger 😅

Home made tofu from soy beans? If that’s the case, impressive!

I love tofu (especially smoked tofu), but never tried making it.

In the past couple of years, it feels like we’re stuck in a constant crescendo. Can we fast track to wherever we’re going? I want to see the climax.

I worry about the decline of the internet. But honestly, when it comes to online shopping, unless you buy from brands you’re familiar with, it often feels like you’re just dodging drop shipping and low quality copies.

I’ve been using it on and off since beta. It’s good. Loving it functionality wise, but I wish the design was a bit subtler though.

I’m really enjoying Raycast > Raindrop integration to manage “to-read later” bookmarks.

Raycast makes adding things to Raindrop a breeze, and then I can pick it up on my phone with Raindrop’s mobile app.
