Wow, so essentially 1:5-1:9! I heard that not pre-K teachers don’t necessarily have to be certified in the US. Is that true? In Taiwan, the MOE is really strict in that regard, so lowering the ratio has made it more challenging for preschools to find staff.

I was off Twitter for a while (left before it became X) as I found it too messy and just.. pointless. I’ve only been on #Bluesky for a few days, but have found numerous resources and accounts I’m eager to follow - exuding professional knowledge and decency.

Thanks for sharing! I find myself struggling with the balance of wanting to incorporate new and exciting things with maintaining the basics (which can basically fill the entire day, especially in the early years). Keeping grounded yet staying innovative, while following policy changes is hard!

Curious what Pre-K and K teacher to student ratios are worldwide. Taiwan is transitioning from 1:15 to 1:12 for 3-6 year old classrooms. 2 year old classrooms are still at 1:8. #EduSkyECEC #ECEC #EduSky #EduPrimary #earlychildhood #preschool #kindergarten

As we’ve been updating our curriculum to integrate more technology into our preschools, our team has been reflecting: How are we using screens? Are our students’ brains actively engaged? What other tech can enhance their learning? Like this article says - not all screen time is created equal!

Thanks to @blueskyfeedcreator.com, I ended up creating two feeds: #ECEC and #SkyEduECEC. Hope it’s okay to piggyback on the #SkyEdu tag.. it seems like many feeds use the #___Sky format; thought I’d give it a try~

First step - try to find early childhood accounts to follow through feeds. None to be found.

Finally got myself on here and trying to learn the ins and outs of Bluesky. I feel like I'm decently tech-y, yet every time I start on a new platform I feel like I'm a million years old..
