Trump advances TikTok deal with new executive order The new order says that the deal to turn over a majority stake in TikTok to a group of U.S. investors meets the terms ordered by Congress, and will allow it to stay online in the U.S.

Based on this awful news, I can’t help but wonder whether @skylight.social will become a much more prominent platform now.

Last time I checked — which was admittedly quite a while ago — Skylight wasn’t quite ready for primetime. I’ll have to give it another look…

As someone who used to teach humanities & media classes and shared novels, TV shows, films, and games that all have cautionary tales about free speech, bias, and media manipulation, it is absolutely chilling to see this play out in real life right now.

Not only has Trump undoubtedly had a hand in forcing Colbert off the air, but Republicans in Congress have now stripped funding from NPR & CBS.

I could easily see “Crowd Control” on @dropout.tv’s stellar Game Changer being its own show - for at least a one-off season, anyway. It’s an interesting concept to tee up interesting talking points via T-shirt for comedians to experiment with in a funny yet empathetic manner.
