Well, no one ever says "show us a good story". It's always "tell us a good story", so it should be easy...right? 😅

I think I've been expecting (maybe dreading) "show don't tell" since the beginning, so I had an inkling it might show itself at the last.

I had a notion the other day that for the anti prompt's last hurrah you might bring back some (or all) of the previous anti prompts in some sort of diabolical greatest hits compilation...but you wouldn't be that cruel, would you?

Maybe just try it once.

It's not always easy to come up with a unique take on the anti-prompt, so don't stress on that so much that it distracts you from telling your best story.

And don't overdo it. Sometimes a simple (or safe) take on the prompt might serve your story better.

Two years ago I had a short story published for the first time. Any publication or acknowledgment is meaningful, but this one was more so. Before this, my writing aspirations had sat on the shelf for years, so it was a timely reminder that it's never too late to start. #amwriting #writingcommunity
