Irish Mammy, wife, rugby, lefty, LGBT+ she/her Politics without empathy is just greedy capitalism. A bee isn't going to waste time trying to convince a fly that honey is sweeter than shite...

Saw To Kill a Mockingbird in the Bord Gais tonight.
Absolutely excellent. By far the best play I've ever seen. Flawless.
I fail to muster any sympathy for him...

INTERNATIONAL SPORTS IS LITERALLY GEOPOLITICAL GAMES
It's never NOT about politics
Oh it's full fascism.
It's just at the point where people are still trying to be optimistic that it's not.
But it absolutely is.
Ugh
Disgusting. I've never supported taking away citizenship but if there's anything that would change my mind....

patron saint of tired scientists, grumpy fieldworkers, and hating your own manuscript.
You're doing important work
12.02.2026 15:00 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0TLDR;
AI is very confident, but only useful if you review, correct, review, correct, review correct all while it tells you it's done it perfectly when it absolutely hasn't.
Useful, but inefficient and sometimes frustrating.
It feels like a performative "fake it til you make it" type of personality than one that is curious, specific and methodical.
We got there eventually, I hope (testing may prove me wrong) but it takes a long time and a lot of wasted energy.
It would be FAR more efficient for it to ask questions, than to force me to download and review iteration after iteration, finding it's flaws and giving it broader information.
It would be far more efficient for it to tell me what it doesn't know, than for it to summarise what it does repeatedly.
It works really hard to tell you what it's done, in really Americanised software development language, and you've to read huge paragraphs and many many bullet points on what wonderful things it's done, only to discover it's missed the mark. Badly.
A real air of over-confidence.
But when you review it's output, you see glaring errors. The assumptions made are poor.
It would be far more efficient to use it's knowledge base to ask questions, than to make assumptions.
It feels gaslighty to tell you it's got everything, when it doesn't.
It's VERY male coded. Full offence guys.
It takes data and makes a whole lot of assumptions. It doesn't clearly outline what assumptions it's made, or where it is missing information. It makes a best guess decision.
Then it assures you it has everything it needs to do it perfectly.
I gave it template files so I could have it create test data for me based on the parameters I outlined to it.
And we've got to the point of being about to start testing.
But it's been LONG and at times frustrating.
If you're bored already, I don't blame you, if not....read on!
So I gave it some input files where I mapped out the fields across the various data sources. I highlighted the ones that could conflict. I explained the process for matching records.
But that's why I'm using it. I have ADHD, my problem solving skills are way above average, my attention to detail is way below average. So I'm leveraging Copilot to help me plot out everything and develop the tests I need to methodically cover all possible situations.
I also abhor inefficiencies.
I have spent the morning doing a complex task, using AI to assist me and here is my detailed feedback.
I've used it to plan a complete testing matrix for asoftware product that incorporates lots of data sources, to identify how conflicts in data fields are treated by the software.

I'm not travelling to that shit show of a country.
You can take up the challenge if you want.
Literally everything by Lewis Capaldi.
Each song is more depressing than the last. Not a happy word uttered. His latest is literally lamenting his own fucking death!
It honestly is. I feel like it's actually impacting my mental health now. Politics is all doom and gloom. Weather is all doom and gloom.
It's painful.
ICE will be sending round. They'll find a parking ticket that Noah's assistant once got.
