Wow! This read-along of the NYT moment-by-moment leading to the murder of Alex Pretti should shake everyone awake. He was a Good Samaritan.

Agents fired at least ten shots in roughly five seconds. DHS and Pam Bondi claim Pretti approached them armed and intent on a “massacre.”

Standing up for the Constitution is the right thing to do, the patriotic thing to do. Don’t let anyone trample the rights of others, even for a second, because one day it could be your rights on the line. Applaud those on the right side of history, the guardians of democracy.

Leadership matters. But it doesn’t stand alone. An engaged citizenry, a responsible legislative branch, and a Fourth Estate that serves the truth, and the people who call this country home, matter just as much. Democracy only works when all of us show up.

Trump will be remembered as the “Measles and Polio” president, if not also as the president who sanctioned deadly use-of-force against American citizens. Shameful and unforgiving. Maybe electing a “don’t put your hand on the burner” president wasn’t such a great idea, Americans.

This administration rots from the head down. Oddly enough, the evidence keeps turning up in the hand, no matter how often they insist nothing’s wrong.

Donald Trump has repeatedly proven himself mentally unfit for office and morally unfit for freedom. His behavior belongs in a nursing home, his conduct in a courtroom, and his legacy among those who exploited ignorance for personal power.

There is video circulating on social media of a group of ICE agents beating a man near 26th and Nicollet in south Minneapolis, then one of the ICE agents shoots the man while he's on the ground numerous times. A witness can be heard yelling that the victim is dead.

At first glance I thought this was an image of a large open pit mining operation with a truck being shown.

ICE has now carried out two summary executions of innocent people in the streets of an American city.

If you work for ICE, there's no denying that's the mission you're supporting now. You don't get to claim in one year or ten or twenty that you didn't know what ICE was doing. You're complicit.
