Stochastic modal velocity field in rough-wall turbulence - Volume 999
Building up wall turbulence and working towards more realistic boundary conditions for near-surface flows: an experimental, theoretical, stochastic mix. Congratulation Roozbeh Ehsani, awesome job ! and thanks to all coauthors from UMN and UTA

New paper alert, Journal of Fluid Mechanics. 3D trajectories of falling snow during the Minnesota winter season. At relatively low wind speed morphological effects are dominant, but signs of emerging particle turbulence interaction mechanisms are evident.

Turbulence effect on disk settling dynamics | Journal of Fluid Mechanics | Cambridge Core
Turbulence effect on disk settling dynamics - Volume 992
In the study of snow settling, plates and rimed crystals can be modeled as thin disks. Turbulence adds to the complexity, making tumbling and horizontal fluctuations, more likely to occur.
