It's a departure from Trump's outright denial. But Vance failed to admit that everything has become more expensive, in large part, because of his tariffs and unstable economy.

Perfect example of political media operating under the post-truth standard that (1) distorts the facts until the parties look approximately equal, and (2) holds “do MAGA voters care?” as a higher standard than “is it true?” or “is it important for the public to know about this?”

For MAGA Republicans, the Epstein scandal is all about Bill Clinton and powerful Democrats. They are unaware that the singular figure at the center of the scandal, Epstein's "best friend" and the man who introduced him to Melania (who used to work for Epstein), is Donald Trump. Cognitive dissonance.

Epstein emails;

- Trump knew Epstein was a nonce & failed to report it

- Trump was alone with an underage girl for hours

- Instead of denying it, the Whitehouse is saying the emails were "cherry-picked" - ie. they are *true*

- Trump has lied about all this for months

- So where is the media..?

A convicted felon who had also been found liable for sexual assault and committed additional crimes in plain sight was close with a notorious child sex trafficker and likely participated in some of those crimes too got elected with much of that known and spent his presidency railing against “crime.”

NYT had details of Trump's engagement with Jeffrey Epstein's child sex trafficking and *hid it for him*, at the same time it was crucifying Clinton as untrustworthy due to her document retention & security.

If so many elites weren't utterly derelict, cowardly, self-serving enablers and had some fucking ethics, the White House would probably still have its East Wing.

Instead, we have a massive, unmissable wound where arrogance, entitlement, corruption, and misogyny have literally riven the White House.
