I’m didn’t really talk about Proteus because I forget how stingy & kinda racist they can be. Their foats are ok. They’re an old Krewe. That’s all you need to know about them 😊.

I managed to catch a stand of glass beads. Got a good picture of monarch Noah Wyle, he was really sweet. More flambeauxs & the Chaise Ladies.
This has been a full, beautiful Mardi Gras season. Tomorrow we get our last indulgences in before we enter the Lenten season. I love Mardi Gras so much! 💜💛💚

I had so much fun! I finally made some friends on the route tonight. Parade friends are always so fun and it’s been my goal to make some when I’ve gone out on my own. Orpheus is a beautiful parade with many callbacks to Mardi Gras early parades. Including flambeauxs & glass beads.

How biodegradable beads may help make Mardi Gras more sustainable Plastic beads are increasingly viewed as a problem, but a Mardi Gras without beads also seems unfathomable.

Another thing that I love about Carnival time is that glitter, shimmer, headpiece and headbands, and kind of “costume” elements just normal for the this period of time. Which is wonderful to me because these are things I want to wear all the time 😉✨✨

Mardi Gras/ Carnival season is just my favorite. I know so many people have an idea about it but also many misconceptions. I just want others to know how wonderful it is! 💜💛💚

The before and after of the day. It’s my favorite thing about the season. I think it’s so beautiful with more beads in the trees & the toilet paper everywhere!! This is my very favorite day of the entire year. 😍

Iris’ signature throw is sunglasses. With extra special ones being designed & crafted by members. Tuck’s signature throw is decorated toilet brushes & plungers! I caught one! Each Krewe also added an impressive number of sustainable/reuseable throws. Which is so exciting!

Sunnies, butterflies, toilets, and potty humor rule the Saturday before Mardi Gras. Krewe of Iris, one of the oldest all female still parading krewes, kicks leads the day. Krewe of Tucks follows with toilet themed throws and very tongue in cheek humor (pun intended)

That after parades shower is divine! Ah, I feel so refreshed after a long wonderful day.

I know! Baby, come back, you know what I mean. I wanna be supportive but it’s getting hard and I know I don’t have to get something from every drop(I don’t) but like…man.

I really wanted the hat but $45 is taking me out. If I knew part of that was going to PP or something, I’d be more inclined to buy. But good god, $45 is kinda crazy.

Last night was Muses. I now have a complicated relationship with this Krewe. But it’s not fully their fault. Their signature throw are beautifully decorated glittery shoes!

Made vegetarian kebab like sandwiches for supper. I also made some potatoes wedges. It was so good. The kebab were from an Instagram recipe!

That halftime show? Beautiful. Perfect. Everything it needed to be.

I walked about 8 miles yesterday up and down St. Charles. My feet are still a little sore but I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed it. I almost started crying on the way back to my car because it just made me feel so many things.
More parades for me this week. It’s the BIG week. 💜💛💚
