It was Gecqua... until I drew it 5 mins ago and then I was like wow, this is something I would make lol. Seems like there's an obvious choice for most but since I usually go water starter I might go Gecqua. But yeah have a Browt and Gecqua as they look on in horror as Pombon absorbs six out of the seven human souls, ripping apart the Winds and Waves background. All of that just to use Ember smh. Though I do like the potential connection to how often Hina's lack of muscle definition has been brought up! If Hina actually hasn't been truly passionate about track or training since at least when she lost her mother, it'd definitely explain why she hasn't seen many gains

My first thought was that perhaps they moved on from Hina mentioning her mother's death in Chapter 7 and down the line it'll be revisited as the catalyst for Hina's current outlook. Like no matter how hard her mother and the hospital staff tried, they couldn't beat the disease (cont)

The next panel is a close up of Hina. She's still bowing, eyes shut, as she says, "See, that goal you prayed for? I made it all up. Truth is, I actually didn't have one." She is referring to Chapter 8, when she said her goal was to place at the track competition and Ayumu wished on a shooting star for her to succeed. Ayumu stares at her silently as she continues speaking, saying "That's the real reason I wasn't upset [that I didn't qualify]." A shot of the back of Hina's head. She says, "Not to say it wouldn't've been nice to qualify and make it to the next race..."

I really love how much Ayumu has already subtly changed Hina's outlook. It's not always as blatant as it is here, but it's so sweet how their time together inspires Hina to want to emulate Ayumu's passion and honesty
