Definitely No 2! I discovered that a plot detail in my story would not actually work as I had planned, so, I have been trying all day long to figure out how to tweak that detail to avoid having to rewrite the whole story. It's an absolute nightmare.

Subway-style map of the itinerary in The Hobbit. The main journey is show in three different lines: red (Hobbiton to Goblin Town); green (Goblin Town to the Elvenking's Halls); and blue (Elvenking's Halls to Erebor). A subway style map on a parchment background. The map's title reads: "Narnia Transit Map: Talking Beasts Ride Free." The map has seven keys, one for each of the seven books in C.S. Lewis's Narinia series. The main movements of characters and action in each book are traced by colored lines, like a subway map. Locations in each book are marked out as stops in the lines. There is a drawing of a lion above the title of the map, and in the lower right corner there is a compass rose.

Recently, I shared a Lord of the Rings subway map, & I had a bunch of people asking me to do a Narnia version. Well...here you go!

It's covers all 7 books, so it's a lot more complicated the the LoTR ones. And if you like it, it's available to buy on my Etsy store:

I spent three days in York in May and absolutely loved it. I had been there before, many many years ago, so it was a pleasure to return. Conveniently, a lot of sights are in the square km inside the city walls. I certainly made good use of my 2-Day Visit York Pass and reached my 10,000 steps a day.

What did ancient Rome smell like? Honestly, often pretty rank We can probably safely assume Rome, in many areas, was likely pretty dirty and rank-smelling. That said, there’s evidence of perfumes, incense and even deodorants.

Ancient Rome “would have smelt like human waste, wood smoke, rotting and decay, cremating flesh, cooking food, perfumes and incense, and… other things… it seems the Romans did not complain about the smell of the ancient city that much.”

My husband and I have succumbed to binge-watching 😱. Doc Martin has got us hooked, and our local library has all ten seasons plus the Christmas extra on DVD. There's no stopping us, even though the accent is challenging at times.

My young character flees through a hemlock field into a river and dies from asphyxiation as a result of poisoning, not because he cannot swim. Would it be possible to establish the real reason for his death without modern methods (apart from scratches/blisters that hint at hemlock poisoning)?

Why does William have a moustache but not Harold? I thought the Normans were clean-shaven and the English had the cute little Bayeux whiskers.
