15.02.2026 21:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0was hooked on the garlic ones at my local co-op for years but weβve mellowed with age: standard hippie sticks are the way.
12.02.2026 02:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I support this. Been calling βem Hippie Sticks forever, lovingly.
12.02.2026 02:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Retro helmet evolution: After the TORC T1 (comfortable but chin-bar too thin to be much protection), then the Biltwell Gringo SV (sturdy but loud), the Lane Splitter may be the one. That said, a good Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman marathon isnβt a bad way to go.
10.01.2026 17:11 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Alas the timing never works for me to tune in live, so I must drink from the Well of Archives. But this means I donβt pollute the accu with my nonsense (other shows not so lucky) .. but fwiw, deeply appreciate these all-too-brief shows.

Silverbell Lake, Tucson Arizona on the occasion of the 2025 winter solstice
Pint of the hazy IPA at Screwbean Brewing, Tucson AZ, with two motorbikes resting peacefully just beyond
Moto Guzzi V7 Stone (foreground), Harley Davidson Street 500 (background), Tucson AZ
Winter solstice in Tucson: a lazy ride to silverbell lake followed by an outdoor pint at screwbean. As you do.

Indeed, the weather app brings much sorrow. Bad robot.

One last desert ride before 2 weeks in the cold wet pacific northwest for βreasons.β Weirdly itβs raining here as well, as if the future were leaning into the present with a predatorβs terrible arrogance, all saliva and mocking laughterβ¦

19.11.2025 17:51 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0the sound this tour is vastly bigger but the volume (in my experience) was more brutal in the β80s.. thinking of the Burning World tour gig at the (then) 9:30. Funny since the LP was mellow stuff, but that show was aggressive as hell
14.11.2025 02:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0indeed. In the β80s was one near the Kingβs Highway station that was like a religious pilgrimage when visiting a musical collaborator on Ocean Aveβ¦ Coming from DC (an absolute bagel desert), the Hot Bagels visit was all important.
11.11.2025 22:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0AND: that Anekdoten LP is ridiculously solid.
11.11.2025 22:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Scrappy was the end, the harbinger. We should have recognized THE SIGNS but we allowed it to continue. And now, look around.
11.11.2025 21:58 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Colossal Cave, AZ. Iβve ridden here perhaps hundreds of times (by motorbike and bicycle) over the years and have yet to make it into the actual cave. The rideβs the thing.

Still remember the Man Ray exhibition at (of all places) the portrait gallery in DC in the late β80s. They had a huge replica of the metronome/eye assemblage outside the gallery. Life-changing. Also just found the coffee-table exhibition book at a used bookshop in AZ for peanuts! PEANUTS I say (!)
19.10.2025 14:28 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0more road-trip nonsense: the V7 is never not photogenic, especially out here. Made it to California (only just: opposite the Colorado from Parker Dam, etc). Longest trip yet since getting the thing last year. Onward.
17.10.2025 17:25 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0been working on an IG #DollarTreeCeiling series for a few years: itβs been an unhealthy obsession. 13.10.2025 23:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0i have an extremely tinfoil-hat theory about this that will take a dozen cork boards and a ton of string to plot out before it can be written. But Iβm TELLING you. I will be proven right. When it is far too late.

For me it was 50% about planning long specific routes, and the app is good for that (so far). Not just picking a destination but adding tons of waypoints, etc. It seems to get confused less than Calimotoβ¦
01.10.2025 12:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Expensive yes, but its value is a bit personal: is the mini-map display enough for you? Do you ride a sporty posture where you may lean too forward to see it easily? For me it works well. The beep when youβre approaching a turn is subtle but a big help.
01.10.2025 12:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0New navigation tech before a weeklong ride into the desert: The Beeline Moto2 was the only option, not wanting to spoil the Guzziβs classic looks with a bloody phone bolted to the handlebars. Also a nice flashback to the Enfieldβs Tripper in its minimal styling, but a better unit overall. #motosky
