“Born in 1924, she was a household name in pre-revolutionary Iran, famous for a vast repertoire of over a thousand songs. Her career began in the early 1940s, and she became the principal singer for Tehran Radio's Gulha (Love) Programme in 1954. After the 1979 Islamic Revolution, solo female singing was banned, and she did not perform publicly in Iran again. She defected to France in 1994, joined the National Council of Resistance of Iran, and became a symbol of opposition to the mullahs' regime.” This is the result of a Google Lens search and I am unable to verify everything included here.

Weird trend I've noticed in movie trailers: Take a popular '80s hit song and slow it down. Might just be an A24 thing. Anora used Blondie's Dreaming and Marty Supreme uses a slowed down version of Tears for Fears' Everybody Wants to Rule the World. It's effective, I guess.

2025 is the 30th anniversary of the 18th Dye album "Tribute to a Bus" (1995) and it's kind of crazy I haven't seen any articles about it. 🤷‍♂️

I will never not be surprised at how friendly people in The South can be.

I’m at a mall (don’t ask!) at 11:45am and the only store that is crowded is the Apple Store and it is absolutely mobbed. Teeming! The rest of the mall is quiet and relatively empty. I don’t understand the economy. 🤷‍♂️

Having coffee at what was my daily neighborhood cafe for a over a decade. (Haven’t been here in over a year). It is imbued with so many memories of friends and neighbors and experiences, almost feels like visiting a childhood home. I miss it but also realize I’ve moved on.
