How does no one down there know the answers to questions like these?

I think everyone knows the answers. Say it out loud. Someone. #dumbfounded

Agreed.
Parking mandates force developers to build more parking spaces than needed, wasting land, increasing construction costs, and ultimately making housing and businesses more expensive.
Ending parking mandates is good for small business.

🚨 Saint John, NB: Why pass laws forcing every home to finance parking for SUVs & pickups nobody needs? It’s nonsense, as demonstrated by Denver. Stop making housing costlier for a myth that everyone drives. Homes > parking spots. #PeopleOverParking #SaintJohnNB πŸ πŸš—βŒ

It's important that Canada emerge from this war as a reliable global trading partner, but we need to make trade with an unreliable partner expensive, as is the norm.

We definitely need to make the guy who said "we don't need anything from Canada" eat lots of crow.

As you can see from the start of my thread, I'm asking questions because I don't have the answers. But if you think winning people over by asking them questions designed to make them look stupid is the way to influence others, try x. I have no time for anonymous accounts with an attitude problem.

"lower speed limits and smart design"

Hold on a second, drivers aren't responsible for either of those two things.

Before you blame users for how they use a road, take a close look at how the builders of the road designed it to operate. #safedesign #peoplecity

Isn't that what they are doing right now? A foreign country with a lot of power over us is deciding which businesses we should lose by applying tariffs. If we have choices to make, I would like to see the ones that hurt them the most. That's why I'm asking this question.

Prime Minister, why doesn’t Canada apply export duties on products the U.S. wants? It could push exporters to add value here, sell more domestically, cut inefficiencies, and boost local jobs. Seems like a win for Canada. Add an export duty to their softwood tariffs? Curious to learn.

Those are commercial rates for commercial users and not a reasonable fare for a typical traveler, even at 50% discount. I took this ferry a few times for work in the early 2000s when it was borderline reasonable at around $95. This ferry is not for the public anymore, even with the break.

Main Street project fixes decades-old errors in key Saint John route | CBC News An upgrade of Main Street and the viaduct in Saint John will give the city its first protected bike lane while correcting problems that date back to the days of urban renewal in the 1960s.

"...these projects get characterized too much as a cycling-only project...what you're doing is you're reducing the number of conflict points for drivers, reducing the crossing distance for pedestrians and increasing sight-line visibility for everyone. Six lanes never made sense." sologi.co/mainst

Since the pandemic, Moncton roads are truly lawless. We are there all the time and I haven't seen any traffic policing there in years so people just do whatever they want.

Canada announces new requirements for food labels Front-of-the-package labelling will be mandatory for prepackaged foods by Jan. 1 2026, the label is needed if the product exceeds 15 per cent of the recommended daily intake of those ingredients.

Great move by Health Canada. This will have a positive impact.

It's not about tariffs and it's not about hurt feelings. Canadians do not intend to submit themselves to American authorities at the American border. Lots of evidence tells us we shouldn't trust them right now.

I was told years ago that there are 4 reactor pads at Lepreauβ€”if that’s true, why is NB only planning one more reactor? With such tough regulatory hurdles, and local acceptance, wouldn’t it make sense to build more at once if demand is there?
