i've always thought that what actually dwindles the player numbers in ffxiv is not necessarily the game itself, but the loud online doomer/modder crowd. don't be surprised if i'm right again.

and it makes me sad. but there are days when i have a lot of fun with the game and fumbling around. and this only makes it more frustrating.

ranked matchmaking makes me super anxious, and it's just so hard mentally to play these games. i love them though! i love to watch them, i love to lab them... but every time i feel like i'm only staring at an abyss.

eventually it might be time to give up on them all together.

this has happened before with smash bros and no matter what i do i just can't shake the feeling of being absolute dogshit with the game, while my friends get better and better and i never seem to keep up. this makes me want to practice less, but if i practice less i get worse.

getting my ass beat in fighting games is not fun and i've been trying so hard to better my mentality and see things from another perspective and i always end up getting even more frustrated. i feel like no matter how much i practice and learn i still can't see anything developments.

like the way garlemald was literally written off during EW was criminal and incredibly disappointing and even though it had some powerful cutscenes it doesn't excuse the fact that a garlemald story was hyped up for YEARS only to be like "oops zenos moment! muah :*"

we need more worldbuilding but like proper worldbuilding. there's still so much in the source that we haven't properly explored or even have proper storylines writen for. i'm talking meracydia. i'm talking ilsabard. we should have gotten the garlemald expansion we deserved.
