ultimately when it boils down to like, doing what makes me happy even if it makes me feel kinda alone, I would rather that then focus on chasing trends and I wish that was more heavily encouraged in a lot of online spaces.

it's tough, for sure - I have tried to be really adamant about just doing what I like and focusing on what I enjoy, and it's always really rough to have that trade-off of posting OC work to little fanfare to fanart that's not as fun but will bring in higher numbers of people who only want x thing
