At this point "AI is just a plagiarism machine" and adjacent takes should be seen as the simpleton oversimplifications they are. To me it's the other side of the coin where you have complete weirdos who seem to believe AI is literally God. Why can no one be normal about LLMs.

In five years a lot of people who swear they will net use AI and couldn’t possibly use AI because AI is useless will be using a cool new tool to help them do a thing they love doing but it won’t specifically be ChatGPT so they will swear up and down that the AI thing they are using is not AI.

Personally I think while we've gone through several evolutions under Arteta he is fundamentally very rigid in what he wants. The amount of money we've thrown at the left 8 position every window to find this hyper specific player is one example.

Yeah and this is exacerbated by the end product contribution of our Fullbacks last season (effectively 0). This season with White back it will be better but I don't see MLS hugely improving on that front just yet.

I adore watching Calafiori play football, he's so strong, his movement is incredible, technical level is high and he's good at so many different things. The one thing he isn't good at is actually getting on a football pitch which is a damn shame.

Yeah I agree but I think his lack of final third output in open play is just as much a limitation in those games at 8. Really he is a double pivot player and we are shoehorning him into either role in some ways.

Yeah totally agreed. The way we play is obviously brilliant in big games so I don't really think we need to change much there, apart from maybe transitioning a bit better. But the way we play against mid table teams where we have all the ball is still a fair bit worse than other teams.

I find it weird how we've decided Rice can't play at 6 ever again. When we're chasing games it could be a way to get another attacker on the pitch. I think you'd rather keep Rice on than Zubi because of his set pieces and stopping transitions if we're throwing everyone forwards.

Yeah... An other way you could achieve balance would be to have a swashbuckling left back and play Rice as part of a double pivot. Would also solve the issue that there are like 5 touch line wingers in the world and get our wingers inside a lane. Obviously we have gone down a different route.

Is it? It's very standard for options to be activated, they quite explicitly exist to protect the club's interests over the player.

Giving a player a pay rise without extending is unprecedented, it's the kind of thing Wenger would do. I don't really see why we can't just tell him tough - he is under contract. Extending would be even worse though.

Quite incredible that our human rights lawyer Prime Minister not only turned a blind eye to Israel, but actually said "Israel has the right to defend herself". Macron of all people being the voice of reason here is just bizarre.

And they already have wide forwards who are decent. They might not be perfect system fits for Amorim but seems strange to overpay for peak aged talent in a position when you already have top half PL quality players. You need an SD to take charge here surely.

I rate Cunha and Mbeumo but I think spending £130m is absolutely mental. For that sort of money on two forwards you'd hope they'd take you to top four level but I don't think they do anything like that for United.

Either way I'm feeling very positive because if Jesus can keep this up it allows us to recruit in the forward line over the next two windows and have Jesus be a plug and play attacker across multiple positions. All of a sudden we would feel very different about our attack.

Yeah I suspect the goals won't continue at this rate but it's the work rate and the way he allows us to rotate across the frontline that I like the most. We are just a lot less rigid when he plays well. Sometimes finding a lost player can revitalise your season
