If you require a few extra days to prepare your proposal, feel free to reach out directly to me. For ecological and budgetary reasons, we can only accept participants from countries within a reasonable distance of Mainz.

This is not a formal call for papers, but we would appreciate a brief 100-word proposal along with a short CV or a link to an online profile. Given our tight schedule, priority will be given to the earliest submissions, which should be sent by May 1st at the latest.

Contributions from both the modern and contemporary periods are welcome, provided that they engage with issues of knowledge circulation or the cultivation and gathering of plants.

PhD students are particularly encouraged to join, as most of our current participants are more senior scholars—myself excluded. We welcome proposals that broadly address plant studies, not just medicinal plants.

We haven’t advertised this event, as we handpicked colleagues whose expertise aligns with the workshop themes. However, as we finalize the program, it appears we can accommodate one more participant.
