NEW: This isn't about "training." The two agents who murdered Alex Pretti - Jesus Ochoa and Raymundo Gutierrez - have been with Border Patrol for 8 and 12 years respectively. You can't reform CBP. Abolish ICE/CBP. www.propublica.org/article/alex...

Thinking about whoever said that by accepting a meal from people and then arresting them ICE agents broke a cultural taboo that was invented by, like, the first humans to set up a tent

Too close to Elon, too close to the rest of them…I can’t imagine having fun little haha email times with any of these creeps and then being shocked later when the public thinks that maybe I, too, am a creep???

I once ended up at an informal group dinner seated across from Tosca Musk in ~2018. I was googling her name on my phone under the table to try and place her accent, that’s how little I didn’t know who her family was. I’ve spent the last two years, esp, thoroughly skeeved out that being TOO CLOSE.

β€œGet it all on record now β€” get the films β€” get the witnesses β€” because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened.”

Photo with Added Text: On the west side of Walnut, south of 12th Street in Kansas City, Missouri:
An "older" man (but probably not as old as me) wearing a black, hooded, zippered sweatshirt over insulated overalls emerges on a sidewalk from beneath a lot of aluminum scaffolding. His demeanor is stern. He's walking towards the camera, holding a hand-made sign with black, blue and white letters on white poster board. The sign reads, "STOP ICE MURDERS | JUSTICE FOR RENEE."
There are a lot more people behind him, also carrying signs.
In the first row behind him, two young girls bundled in snow gear. The first carries a sign reading, "Fund Schools | Not ICE." Behind, a smaller girls lifts a colorful hand-made sign reading, "ICE OUT." A woman right behind the girls, in a knit cap, carries her own sign reading, "KC Schools | Not ICE." A middle-aged man beside them carries a sign that is only partially visible, but it reads, in full, "ICE OUT FOR GOOD."
The signs behind the front row of demonstrators are blocked by intervening marchers or beyond the photograph's depth of field and not in focus.
To the right, another photographer, wearing a parka, carries a shoulder bag and camera.
The demonstration was promoted by the Missouri Workers Center.

At least 200 demonstrators marched through downtown #KansasCity today (23 January '26) in 5℉ (don't laugh, Minnesotans; we consider that quite cold down here) to show their solidarity with Minnesota at large and Minneapolis in particular.

ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA -- our latest on the murder of Alex Pretti and the actions we should take right now:

24.01.2026 22:06 β€” πŸ‘ 1627    πŸ” 620    πŸ’¬ 71    πŸ“Œ 39

they're executing moms and nurses in the street. they're using preschoolers as bait. they're stealing people's dads and grandmas and children. they're tear gassing babies. they're staking out schools. there is no remedy but abolition. any proposal that doesn't start there is an act of violence.

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.

White. Hot. Rage.

Fuck Target.

I’ve shopped there one time in the last year. Before their fascist boot licking, they were my go to for *everything.* I shop at Walmart nowβ€”when big box store is absolutely necessaryβ€”because at least their evil corporate asses have never pretended to be allies.

Will Stancil is literally in a picture DHS posted, standing there in his flannel and jeans, just videoing them and giving them PTSD from being owned so hard by a 40-year-old lawyer in a Honda Fit.

Take a low cost little 1-session class together β€” a friend and I did a bird watching one. (Libraries are clutch for offering little things like that)

There’s a casual game group we play with every Wednesday night β€” we play whatever with whoever shows up.

I do volunteer shifts at the food pantry and the shelter with friends.

Get together to binge watch a show or rewatch a fave movie with snacks.

Go on walks during nice weather.

Visit new art exhibits at the museum, go to craft / art fairs, pop by a new-to-us coffee shop and play a casual card game (Quiddler is a fave for this), local theater performances, see new bands in small venues, have a craft evening where everyone works on their own project or random cheap kits

Joined a casual game-night group and play games every week with whoever shows up β€” it’s been a really delightful addition to my week! Each game is usually new to me, and that’s okay. I’m not playing to win, I’m playing to chill out.

I’d be a masochist if I read 120 litfic books in a year. Unless they were horror lit…I could survive that.

Especially because you’re looking for a new book to read, may I highly recommend the short non-fiction β€œAlchemy” by Ogilvy marketing legend Rory Sutherland. It has, unironically, opened up how I think about and approach every facet of human persuasion.

What Kat is doing is straight up alchemy.
