Should we be doing less peer review?
As research output grows, many question how much peer review the system can sustain.
RoRI's @ludowaltman.bsky.social: βWe need to ask ourselves whether there really is a need for all research outputs to be peer reviewed.β

"who controls the scientific literature? ... power and control over vital issues β what is peer review, what is a journal, what gets published β have been ceded to organizations beyond the scientific community, like Web of Science and Scopus. This is not healthy for science or scientific community."

β6% of sleuths agreed that current reporting channels for misconduct are effective, compared to 77% of research-integrity officersβ
I think this is readily explainable by the differential access to information. RIOs do not see what doesnβt even reach them, eg when editors refuse to act.

Open science is one of our key areas of expertise at @cwts.nl. Very glad that we can use our expertise in this area to develop an open science monitoring framework for the Netherlands!
We will work on this together with colleagues at Dialogic.
