This was the first year I staffed for @furality.org Somna. Every year before I was an attendee. Every year we spend time in this celebration of creativity. The one moment were we all can express oneself outside our usual spaces in this medium. So many unique and beautiful individuals we encountered.

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

I just figured out a way to work around a limitation on VRChat quest so the normal tune shader for mobile does not support the emissive so my avatar wouldn't glow in the dark which is a big problem

Excitedly, impatiently waits to see if the offline user will get my joke or take me seriously.

My 8GB RX 570 was able to push out 8k images in an 80 person no cull no shield instance. Even my 4gb Rx 550 could pull 8k with barely a stutter.

A 4GB RX 550 paired with a modern CPU showed itself capable of showing 10-20 avatars if I lowered the resolution. It's major weakness being fur shaders. 20 avatars is what I expected out of an 8gb card previously.

My AMD FX-8320e previously showed itself capable of 6ish avatars shown in an instance with heavy lag spikes and constant crashes. Whereas now I'm able to go into a 50 person rave instance with no shield no cull at a perfectly stable 10fps. Which is low but the key there is STABLE.

It's crazy to me that VRChat enabling Mipmap Texture Streaming was a small note in the logs despite the fact that it significantly dropped VRChat's minimum spec.
