Nor has it been anything but a beach in Stellar Basin for a long time. On that beach, there lives a Dog. He didn't always live on this particular beach, nor did he use to live alone. But it is the beach, the shallows, and finding food within those shallows that make up the life of the Dog now, and have for a long time. The Dog could not say how long it has been, becauseโamong other thingsโhe is a dog, and does not have the equipment generally required for understandable speech, such as human vocal cords. Dredge hits that sweet spot where, no matter how dark the setting is, there remains whimsy within the game and outside it. As they say: the horrors persist, but we stay silly! Sample work (writing excerpt): "You," she says at last. "Who are you?" "Greetings," says one, standing beside a bench. "You are very tired," says another. "We are friends." "Sit and rest," says the third. "Sit and rest." That is obviously a trap. โฆHornet can see how others might fall for it. Desperate for something, anything to serve as a refuge against the horrors outside, they would take the first kindness offered, not recognizing it as false.
