From submission to being awarded, it takes at least a year... if you can get funded on the first try. These cancellations are impacting submissions and decisions from 2024, which will have far reaching effects moving forward.

Because these executive orders were enacted without clarity, study sections and funding councils are being cancelled without explanation. There are only 3 times a year (sometimes less) we can apply for these big grants.

If these executive orders are not reversed, it will devastate research, therapeutic development & hospital systems reducing their operating margin/bottom line. It’ll severely restrict who we can train as our next generation of scientists & physicians & grossly impact the quality of our work force

In essence, I'm a small business owner, grants are my operating budget. Not allowing the NIH to communicate with researchers and in many cases physicians, is devastating to our research, clinical trials/operation, and general health. This is unacceptable.
