Diverting is a little bit crazy, but I don’t blame airlines for not letting people sit in premium seats for free. Either pay for it or earn status with the airline to choose that seat for free like the rest of us.

Every single idiot passenger who does crap like that has to be promptly put on a no-fly list that should ban them from air travel indefinitely. Airlines or TSA or whomever should also publish the details - what’d the person do & what was the consequence. MAYBE it would start to sink in for people.

A surprising amount of people in that thread are missing the point. Sure, airlines are quickly accelerating into late stage capitalism trash with fees & charges, but I’ll argue that the bigger issue is human behavior. You can’t refuse crew member instructions, particularly if you’re in an exit row.
