Parsing towards simplicity. We have to give our players some credit for being smart enough to figure out tertiary things on their own. We don't always need a "rule" for everything.
Like Gear. We can assume that they can make logical decisions about how much gear a character can carry.
It's not about what your character "would do", it's about what you want to do with your character. You are writing your part in the narrative.
