While there is a lower class, I am in it, while there is a criminal element, I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free. -Eugene Debs, 1918, upon being convicted of violating the Sedition Act
It turns out that communism is immensely popular in its policy, but horrible with its optics. Democrats are typically the opposite
02.08.2025 20:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Kinda funky that no matter how transgressive a man may be, he hesitates to call himself a βfeminist.β They will jokingly call themselves commies or woke, but feminism, has been given a different connotation. Is it bc of TERFs? Does identifying as feminist first throw up a red flag?

But then the issue you have isnβt with this niche group of Bernie-Trump voters, its with the electoral system. Its never βthat simple,β you have to pick and choose who or what you want to hold accountable. Do those people suck? Yeah! Are they the Bernie bros youβre encountering online? Unlikely

29.07.2025 16:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I play both; Armored Core has better customization, I open 6 every few days, make a mech, give it a paint job, run it through the arena and some missions, and its a blast. Thats after 40 hours tho
Ace Combat has more consistent gameplay. You canβt fly a bad plane or get frustrated by a hard boss.
Spah creepin around βere
29.07.2025 15:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I donβt think that says much about the candidates tho, especially looking at their voting history and politics. I make Putin happy when I complain about domestic issues, anything to screw with foreign affairs. Again, 12% isnt and shouldnt be significant, its a messed up system
29.07.2025 15:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ah, the beauty of corporate governance. Its like a dating show but instead of being on some remote island it determines what subscription passwords I must steal for this month and which pirating website gets adblocked

White people be like: Waiter, kill them.
No one here needs to hear this, but I am always that guy in guns, drugs, and abortion debates going βlaws make black marketsβ bc that gets overlooked. Black markets are bad for everyone, be more pragmatic or find a genie or smthn, smh
29.07.2025 15:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I had a fascinating talk with a close friend about this whole debacle, and their reaction was to push off the whole clash and just say βcommodities are problematic.β Not productive, but it does shift the conversation away from βlook at these gooners and karensβ and into βoh damn, laborβ
29.07.2025 15:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A small percentage of Bernie voters voted for Trump, and thatβs assuming every Bernie voter was a hot-blooded Bernie bro to begin with. A majority of the country voted for Hillary, to me that makes the voting system a clear problem, not the nuances of the people inside the funky system
29.07.2025 15:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I disagree. Ukraine and Palestine are different issues when youβre in Congress, youβre dealing with the military-industrial complex and foreign policy, and I donβt think Bernie or AOC are picking Russian oligarchy over American oligarchy. Tankies exist, but theyβre not getting elected IMO.
29.07.2025 15:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I wonβt say youβre wrong, but I will say that this is flattening a narrative. Lots of people, left and center, had gripes with Hillary, but I donβt think that resulted in Trumpβs election. If I was old enough, I wouldβve voted Blue no matter who, but I wouldβve complained too.
29.07.2025 15:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Research complete: ββ¦ Hillary Clinton would be the president if the national tallies counted, and the shift from Mr. Obamaβs 51.9 percentβ¦ to Mrs. Clintonβs 51.1 percent was the smallest changeβ¦ since 1888.β
The block matters due to EC chicanery; this is 6-9 million people among 340 million (.2%)
So I am wondering a bit about the phenomenon of βObama-Trumpβ voters. Are they significant in size? Are they inflated to meet the narratives about βReagan democrats?β Will come back with some sources and info later, but feel free to weigh in anecdotally.
29.07.2025 14:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1The Political Wire source is extrapolating the βObama-Trumpβ block. Its worth closer study, but here is an ok starting point (might be Dem think tank, so feel free to keep pursuing your own sources)

I will post the quote if I find it, but in some of my research I came across a work in soc theory that called the electoral system a facade that existed to be βcoerciveβ and to βpacifyβ the forces that would oppose a purely capitalist system. Its all about deception, power through coercion
29.07.2025 14:47 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A lot of big streamers also live in TX, and I am 90% its due to the lack of an income tax. When people make narratives about tax migration and brain drain, they arenβt completely off base, but they forget that those tax havens are temporary, because poor infrastructure sucks (even for rich folk)

29.07.2025 14:21 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thereβs been an interesting discourse over HOW we got here, what structural issues are most important, and so far the conclusions are seemingly apolitical:
Abolish the EC
Require everyone to vote
Implement Ranked-Choice
Improve public education
Stop lobbying
Eat theβ woops howd that get here
This just feels like a band-aid for a major issue with the gig economy. I wish Uber and DoorDash didnβt exist, and if they did they would operate as brokers and service hosts, not a βlogistics operatorβ that picks your contractor and sets pricing and expectations

Hereβs mine: the asshats that ride around on electric bikes with go-pros, swerving around homeless camps, talking OUT LOUD about how certain policies annoy them. The most abrasive way to spend your time IMO
Speaks to a larger issue, I suppose. Like, living in a country that requires everyone to be responsible for a vehicle is ableist. Should have a more accessible transportation infrastructure, that way your headphones are just irritating a fellow pedestrian, not slowing a firetruck
26.07.2025 18:29 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Different strokes for different folks, I wish people learned when they should mind their business and when they should dust off the pitchforks
26.07.2025 18:27 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The deficit wouldnβt be such a bad thing if we could expect a return on those investments. ICE? Border Control? How does that improve GDP? And what do corporations do with tax cuts? Historically they overextend with R&D and blow bubbles (like with AI?!) that hurt the economy
