Technically, he was kept glamoured as a secret to avoid being taken away from his mother. He was never supposed to find out about being half dragon.

It was when he almost died a second time that activated his dragon blood, forcing him to shift into his dragon form to save himself.

Back when I first made Soka, his name was initially Hisoka

The more he developed over time, the more he changed, and started going by Soka.

His first name is still Hisoka, which translates to "Secret". Which is fitting because his paternal blood heritage is where his half dragon trait comes from.
