There are protests, marches , vigils - every weekend, all around the country, in a park, on a street near you. Find them. Bring a buddy, a neighbor, a daughter, a grandchild, and join them. Stay for a few minutes or stay longer.

Who will deliver essential services to the American people who have come to expect so much from their Federal government?

And WHO will we blame when those services are gone?

Who will operate National Parks, ensure visitor safety, maintain facilities and grounds, protect historic sites and natural resources and educate visitors?
(not the 7,000-8,000 seasonal staff the Park Service usually hires to assist during the busy spring & summer season nixed by a hiring freeze)

Who will oversee the safety of driverless cars amidst an uptick in crashes?
(not fired safety specialists at the National Highway Safety Administration)

Who will provide free taxpayer filing assistance and process refunds during the current tax season?
(not fired workers at the Internal Revenue Service)

Who will ensure safe skies?
(not fired Federal Aviation Administration experts)

Who will lead the research into cancer drug discoveries at the National Institutes of Health?
(not scientists with specialized skills recruited for this project - they have been fired)

Who will monitor for hurricanes and tornados and issue warnings to protect lives and property?
(not the U.S. Weather Service, many have been fired)

Who will track the next outbreak of E:coli and bird flu?
(not FDA experts, many have been fired)

Who will help local firefighting crews battle wildfires?
(not workers in the U.S. Forest Service, many have been fired)

Who will dredge the harbors and build the flood gates?
(not the Army Corps of Engineers, many have been fired)

This is horrible. My heart goes out to those who work in this agency and to the communities around the globe who will suffer because of the dismantling of all the USAID programs.
