β€œWell, I tried to make it Sunday, but I got so damn depressed
That I set my sights on Monday and I got myself undressed
I ain't ready for the altar but I do agree there's times
When a woman sure can be a friend of mine”

Fantastic Four Vol 7 #25 (Legacy #718) by Ryan North and Carlos GΓ³mez.

It’s night and Johnny lies on a rooftop on an alien world talking to a local he has befriended. She looks a bit like a spiky pill bug. She does not look at all humanoid. Her name is Angelica of the Shore.

Panel 1:
Angelica: What’s it like? To have light throughout the night. It never gets dark?
Johnny: No, it’s dark, but - - the moon gives off a, I don’t know, a - - softer light? Like a silver glow over everything. Here.

Panel 2:
Johnny: …It’s like this. (Using his fire powers, Johnny creates a small moon in his hands.)

Panel 3:
Angelica: It’s beautiful. It’s the most beautiful light I’ve ever seen.
Johnny: Most beautiful thing you’ve seen so far. See, I can make a ton of different lights.
Angelica. Oh, I bet you can.

Panel 4:
Angelica: Your evenings and nights still last way too long, though.
Johnny: Hah!

Panel 5:
Johnny and Angelica lie quietly next to each other.

Panel 6:
Angelica: Johnny of the Storm, can I kiss you?

The FF are trying to get home, but land on this alien planet instead. They spend several months there trying to figure out how to get home. Johnny falls for a local, who looks like a spiky pill bug and in no way humanoid.

I bought Full Bloom twice. I wasn’t paying attention and bought it in paperback. But I have the first volume in hardback. So I reordered Full Bloom in hardback so they’d match. I know there are a lot of people out there that understand that. But now I have an extra copy in paperback.

A movie that takes place where you’re from.

β€œSleepless in Seattle” seems obvious, but I couldn’t find any gifs of John Wayne in β€œMcQ”, and, while β€œTrouble in Mind” was shot in Seattle, it takes place in the fictional β€œRain City” so not exactly meeting the parameters of the meme.

Love and Rockets was my entry into comics reading and collecting. There was a front page article about it in The Rocket, a Seattle weekly, in 1984. I went to the comic shop deep in the Pike Place Market the next day and bought the latest issue. 12? I think? I’ve lived comics ever since.

As I spent more and more of my life under the care of doctors, nurses, and researchers striving to improve the lives of others, I watched as Bobby cut nearly a half billion dollars for research into mRNA vaccines, technology that could be used against certain cancers; slashed billions in funding from the National Institutes of Health, the world's largest sponsor of medical research; and threatened to oust the panel of medical experts charged with recommending preventive cancer screenings. Hundreds of N.I.H. grants and clinical trials were cancelled, affecting thousands of patients. I worried about funding for leukemia and bone-marrow research at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Textless variant cover to Sensational She-Hulk volume 2, number 2, by Russell Dauterman. A group image of Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk flexing her muscles on the left side of the image; Patsy Walker aka Hellcat crouching in the foreground; Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch floating on the right side of the image just behind She-Hulk; Janet Van Dyne aka the Wasp, sitting on Wanda’s right shoulder; and Sue Storm-Richards aka Invisible Woman in the far background in the top right. Behind them all, red splotches and orange stars float against a light blue background. Everyone seems to be having a good time.

I prefer this to the Z-95 (even the quad-engine version), because the engine layout makes for much easier servicing.

Fun fact: this is explicitly why Dick Wolf created Law & Order: he violently hates defense attorneys and felt tere weren't enough shows about how defendants and their lawyers are scum

(also when somebody "gets off on a technicality" that actually means the cops committed a crime against them)
