Screen shot of a 3d model of a spider. It's body is translucent, showing some internal organs; the digestive system in orange and the circulatory system in green.

"Make a 3d model of a spider's internal organs", they said.*

"It'll be fun!", they said.*

😭

That’s fairly obvious. However, those issues could prevent a plane from responding properly in severe weather conditions. Did any other planes crash that day?

Safety checks, fueling, crew, communication devices presumably were handled on the US side! But it’ll be interesting to see what is ruled as the cause. Tragic regardless ☹️

The funny thing is, if you go to β€œfix a place”, you can’t select the Gulf of America. I could fix Houston or New Orleans but not that.

Dorsal view of two stalk-eyed fly specimens, family Diopsidae, arranged face to face against a white background. The fly on the left is facing right. It's eyes are fairly close together (for a stalk-eyed fly, anyway), the distance between the eyes isn't much greater than the width of the abdomen. The fly on the right is facing left; it's eyes are very wide apart, the distance between them is roughly equal to the length of the entire body. The fly on the left is dark overall; the one on the right has dark eyes, head, and thorax, the legs and eye stalks are yellowish and the abdomen is reddish orange.

The fly on the left is one of two species of stalk-eyed flies in North America.

They do not see eye to eye with their more recognizable relatives from around the world.
