democracy needs yOUR couRAGE

Folks, you can't report the United States to its manager. There's no superhero coming to save us.

We don't need one giant act of heroism. We need millions of small acts of solidarity. Help one person in your community for nothing in return. Then, do it again. And again.

That's the revolution.

Let’s make it happen, ATX folks.

The only thing we can ‘do’ to stop this is mass, sustained protests. I’m talking protests that are big enough to impact the economy.

Folks who aren’t on political social media don’t think it’s bad enough for that yet, though, and I honestly question whether we have the attention span for it at all.

The government of the state of Texas is now fully illegitimate, being imposed by fiat, outside of legal constraints, on people who don’t want it.

If you haven't started practicing how to be in community, networks and relationships... if you haven't started this practice, START NOW.

(And I am deliberate with the word, "practice". I treat relationships and organizing with the same mindset of discipline I do with my physical training.)

Right now at the Texas Capitol, every 30 minutes, folks are gathering to get loud and let Rep Collier know we stand with her. Word is she can the support as they detain her. DPS says to be quiet. As my daughter once said, “Never shut up a woman!” Get loud, people! NOW.

No more pretending, Ladies. I am feeling #fullwitch about now. LFG!

Honestly, its going to be women who will lead and rise in this dark time. We are the fighters, protectors, providers and innovators.

To all the women on my timeline-- I hope you're ready, in whatever way that means to you.

A golden retriever is ideal, but any will do. • Tell your loved ones a cheesy dad joke and laugh about it. • Bake something — bread for Mark or a cake for Melissa, and share it with someone. • Try a new hobby and enjoy learning something. • Stand up for what you believe in, especially if that thing is justice and peace. "Hope and resilience are the enemy of fear. Our parents lived their lives with immense dedication to their fellow humans. This tragedy must become a moment for us to come together.
