Another plasma enrichment methodology. I'm not a huge fan of high-throughput approaches that require a dry down and reconstitution step, but this seems like the type of approach that is destined for commercialization.

Most of my issues were caused by my ORCID being associated with a separate MyNCBI login. Make sure it is populated in your profile before proceeding too far.

Thought of you when I was using the self checkout and got flagged for putting my Cheerios and reusable bag into the bagging area at the same time. When they cleared me, there was an overhead video of my β€œmaneuver”. Are they using AI to prevent shoplifting?

We can automate data transfer, file conversion and processing in Spectronaut, so that is usually the next step. Then we’re looking at TIC in htrms converter and IDs, XIC extraction width, etc.

If it’s a multi-day study, sometimes targeted extraction in Skyline to look at rt stability, mass accuracy and peptide intensity. Quick and dirty is just to look at file sizes, which often alerts to a bad sample or gradual loss in ion current. 1/2

Ooh that's an idea. I'm missing ASMS but looking for another conference for late summer/early fall.

My lazy recipe is to cut the leaves cross-wise, stuff them in an instant pot with smoked pork necks or hocks, add some water and red pepper flakes and cook for ~45-60 min. Sometimes I’ll add sugar after they are cooked to sweeten but the molasses is a good tip.

Question for the #proteomics community πŸ‘‡

What should proteomics repositories be doing today (use cases, features, research) that we’re currently missing? Would love your inputβ€”RT to reach more voices.

Many of you are likely unaware but small business grants are currently not a thing because Congress is a mess.

"Active NIH SBIR and STTR awards can continue, however NIH will not issue noncompeting continuation awards for existing projects until the SBIR/STTR program is reauthorized."

#AminoAcidAdvent Day 6: Cysteine (Cys; C)

Like Mork & Mindy, these stinky residues love to bond! Jerks like us break these bonds, with chemoproteomics trying to map, probe, and manipulate them. Leftovers stuck to S-S is a fun field but I love them for their antioxidant and metal binding abilities.

I guess you in theory have a slightly cheaper assay if you inject direct from a plate (versus load on Evotips), but is there any other advantage of the Neo?

I wouldn’t put it through an LC. Maybe that’s been the source of some problems.

However, I would keep it clear of any instrument that is used for small molecules or is very sensitive to impurities in calmix.

We’ve been using it post-column for microflow (1 mm * 100 ul/min) for awhile on Orbitraps. Actually I think it keeps things cleaner and service engineers have never complained. 1/2

Neat. Will have to test PrA/DMSO next I'm on running on an instrument that I won't get in trouble for abusing (and has already seen lots of DMSO). Maybe I won't need 60 ugs on column :).
