Survival became a roll of the dice.
This Alexei Sayle quote gets to the heart of the Mandelson scandal. The people who worked so hard to destroy Corbyn are close allies of Mandelson. They had no qualms at all about him having stayed at the house of a convicted paedophile. Mandelson stood for their values. They are truly vile people...

08.02.2026 04:42 โ ๐ 7711 ๐ 1228 ๐ฌ 90 ๐ 49A Reddit user posts: Hey everyone, I just experienced a textbook example of forced ecosystem lock-in and I'm still in shock. I wanted to share and see if this community has any insight or similar stories. What happened: I had tickets sent to me for the Hawks game in Chicago (at the United Center). To receive them, I was required to create an account, which I did using my standard, non-Google email. When I arrived at the stadium, the gate staff immediately said screenshots wouldn't work. The ticket link in my email didn't even show a traditional barcode, it only presented one option: a button to 'Add to Google Wallet' that would enable NFC entry. They confirmed the only way in was to add the ticket to one of those wallets. I explained I don't use those and refused on principle. Their response was essentially, "You need to use one of those wallets," and one staffer even said I "might need to create a Gmail." I tried to stand my ground, and they turned me away. I was denied entry to an event I paid for because I wouldn't add a ticket to a specific digital wallet. In the end, I was forced to add it just to get in. Why I'm posting here: This feels like the ultimate "degoogle" nightmare scenario. It wasn't just about data privacy in theory; it was a direct, real-world consequence: Forced account creation (first layer). Forced use of a mega-corporation's ecosystem (Google/Apple) as the only access method. Complete exclusion for non-compliance.
Dystopia grows.

South Africa was banned from the Olympics from 1964 to 1988 because it was an apartheid state.
The ICJ declared Israel to be an apartheid state, so when does its ban start?

There should be travel restrictions. Letting former IDF soldiers into Europe is a national security risk and danger to public safety.

SCREENCRAFT WHAT IS "MA"? In an interview with film critic Roger Ebert from 2002, Ebert tells Miyazaki he appreciates what he calls "gratuitous motion" in his films, adding that, "Instead of every movement being dictated by the story, sometimes people will just sit for a moment, or they will sigh, or look in a running stream, or do something extra, not to advance the story but only to give the sense of time and place and who they are," said Ebert. Miyazaki answered with, "We have a word for that in Japanese," he said. "It's called Ma. Emptiness. It's there intentionally."
My piping hot take on PLURIBUS is that itโs one of the most Ghibli-esque shows on TV today, and people who think its pacing is too slow ought to really sit with and examine why they feel that slow pace = bad.
Its first season has several minutes worth of โmฤโ, and is much stronger for it, IMO
