The environments are gorgeous and it has fantastic set pieces. Doing Saving Private Ryan as a centurion was just the right amount of ridiculous.

There are some QTE elements, but pretty minor...most are just for bonus points.

References to Kinect and Smartglass are quaint. Artifacts of antiquity.

Rolled credits on Ryse: Son of Rome. It's great! I slept on that...it had a troubled production and a lot of bad press. Glad I finally gave it a shot.

It's an Arkham-style brawler with a tight, 6-hour campaign and suitably epic story that still looks amazing in 2026. Worth the $5 when it's on sale.

I would even say pandering to Gen-X is activley toxic to other demos at this point. 80's nostalgia has been wrung dry, and no one wants to hear about "the good old days" from what is largely perceived as the J6 Generation.
