It's really hard to pick just four. I nearly put in Breath of Fire 2 because I think there's a beautiful story in there somewhere, but it's tough to want to play.

Okay, no, they exist, I saw one. And with a voiced line too. It's cool.

That said, the game is still really awesome and I'm loving the dialogue. There are a few minor things that are unfortunate in their absence, but I'm loving playing this again after like 20 years.

I haven't seen any. It is a bummer because one of the FFXIV Ivalice raids features what some of them might be, and they're freaking cool. "To the current of life we succumb. Its judgment swift and final. Its bite as cold as steel."

Definitely the first one. While there is a comedic appeal to the second, the first has a world-weariness that grabs me more.

People saying they're burned out on the HD-2D aesthetic indicates to me that it's a strong art style with a point of view. Art styles like that tend to be more polarizing; there isn't much to say about bland photorealism, after all.
