More insights:
- No significant correlation between recovery and age, gender, or side of paralysis β
- Higher steroid doses linked to poorer outcomes π
- Vitamin supplementation showed no significant impact π
- Lab markers (NLR, TLR, LDH) not predictive of recovery π₯½

𧡠2/3 Key finding: 81.8% achieved complete recovery at 2 months, but steroid use was associated with lower recovery. Nothing too new: the @AANmember and the @AAOHNS have called for RCTs questioning the usefulness of steroids in pediatric Bellβs palsy cases.

Take home message: I could use some more carefulness when assessing probabilities π

Why probability probably doesnβt exist (but it is useful to act like it does)
All of statistics and much of science depends on probability β an astonishing achievement, considering no oneβs really sure what it is.
Took the Brier test today; itβs a way of testing how accurate you are in your predictions. Indirectly, itβs a way of measuring your sense of security and how biased you might be in taking decisions.
