between this and bans on gender affirming care, the message couldn't be clearer: they want trans people to die whether they've transitioned or not. death through neglect has always been america's favorite form of genocide. same thing we did with AIDS and continue to do with homelessness

Sotomayor's dissent is basically the plaintiff's brief. It hits all the notes.

So at least it will be preserved in the record that not *everybody* on SCOTUS was as bigot during the Fascist 20s.

In sadness, I dissent."

Today’s ruling is a devastating loss for transgender people and our families, and an affront to the Constitution.

We'll continue to fight alongside trans youth in Tennessee and across the nation for the health care they deserve.

The NYT's anti-trans fear mongering was cited in a Supreme Court briefing that stripped away the rights of trans kids. They need to be fully blacklisted by queer people and their allies. Don't work for them. Don't use them for book press. Don't speak with them for stories. They made their bed.

With plenty of moving testimonials and charming talking heads, Heightened Scrutiny draws damning lines between the β€œjust asking questions” opinion pieces published in respected mainstream media publications like The Atlantic and the New York Times and the legal arguments made in our judicial system. The damaging rhetoric in these outlets is directly and immediately echoed by lawyers, judges, and β€œexperts” brought into courtβ€”and because of how clicky transphobic stories have historically been, this vicious cycle has recently ramped up. Add in the targeted bigotry of the increasingly radical right, and the legal, cultural, and medical fight for acceptance now waged by trans folks has gotten all the tougher as public awareness has grown.

Heightened Scrutiny, a very good doc about the Supreme Court case that was just ruled on, does an impeccable and infuriating job laying out just how culpable the NYT and Atlantic are for the nation’s transphobia www.avclub.com/sundance-202...

accidentally revealing that the republican and democrat lines on trans people are exactly the same: we are not people and we are certainly not Americans

why do you even bother posting if everything you say, every response you have to every single thing happening is "this is just a distraction from what's really important: a piece of legislation we don't even plan on blocking"

The Supreme Court just ruled against trans rights.

Join us outside the court for an emergency rally at 3:00 pm today to show we won't be silenced.

How to Advocate for Trans Rights in Your Community Want to push back against the bigoted attacks targeting trans and gender-nonconforming people? Here are specific ways you can helpβ€”with your time, money, and everyday actions.

so off that Supreme Court decision, we offer you a guide on how to advocate for trans rights in your community:

Today is a real bad day for trans folks. Lots of us are already struggling under the constant mental and emotional strain of being the target of international hate campaigns for years now, and it ain't getting easier

Support us, now more than ever. Emotionally, financially, politically. We need it

18.06.2025 14:57 β€” πŸ‘ 1913    πŸ” 729    πŸ’¬ 12    πŸ“Œ 6

For generations, transgender people have faced efforts to erase us from public life β€” and every one of them has failed. This is no different.

We’ve always been here, and we’re not going anywhere, no matter what the courts say. Count on it.

18.06.2025 14:56 β€” πŸ‘ 438    πŸ” 70    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 2

The court got it wrong.

Denying transgender youth the health care they need solely because they’re trans is discriminatory, and we will keep fighting.

18.06.2025 14:56 β€” πŸ‘ 1223    πŸ” 294    πŸ’¬ 25    πŸ“Œ 7

Our cases against President Trump on behalf of trans people can continue. We will not back down from the fight for trans health care and for trans people’s dignity and freedom.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court ruled Tennessee’s law banning gender-affirming medical care for transgender youth can remain in effect.

This is devastating for trans people and our families but doesn’t end our work against President Trump’s attacks on trans people and our health care.

Exactly. Ugh what an utterly wretched aspect of Swedish society. It's a long term goal of mine to write a collection of short stories about my experiences. I probably shouldn't have nuked my twitter because so much was documented there, but lol I hate Space Karen.

Agreed. And we'll truly never know how many deaths were preventable if an already sick patient hadn't gotten infected. It was disgusting so many people rallied behind 'they would have died anyway' while also spreading FHMs anti-mask propaganda. Only to have Tegnell walk back so much in hindsight.

I'm thankful we survived ❀️ I'm also back to being the only one in the hospital wearing a mask (the few times i go). It's still so uncomfortable no one masks in the cancer building, but I'm used to the stares. I feel sorry these fragile patients were never taught how to protect themselves.

I remember so clearly going for several of my post-breast cancer examinations (in the 5 year window) during the worst covid waves BEFORE family quarantine rec. and BEFORE vaccines. I can't describe the horror of seeing fragile cancer patients unmasked, doctors/nurses unmasked, relatives unmasked.

Keep Hope Alive: a Gaza Giving Circle We are a team of volunteers in the US and UK, led by two sisters passionate about helping our friends on the ground keep their families and neighbors alive with food, water, & shelter. We saw that…

Me again. I’m writing this 12 hours ago, so I’m hoping we’ve had some support come in for this single lifeline for 6 families and a displacement camp. I’d like to think we can do better than going more than a day without support, i.e. food, for them.

NYC Comptroller Brad Lander was just arrested by Trump’s ICE agents because he asked to see a judicial warrant.

This is fascism and all New Yorkers must speak in one voice. Release him now.

Hi, this is Meg Barnette, Brad's wife.

While escorting a defendant out of immigration court at 26 Federal Plaza, Brad was taken by masked agents and detained by ICE.

This is still developing, and our team is monitoring the situation closely.

The Supreme Court Case on Trans Health Care, Explained. | ACLU

We carry Aimee's legacy into our continued fight for trans justice.

Last year, we argued against gender-affirming care bans before the Supreme Court and we're expecting a decision soon.

Five years ago today in a historic ruling, the Supreme Court affirmed that LGBTQ people are protected from workplace discrimination.

Our plaintiff Aimee Stephens passed away before the decision came down, but left a message of hope for the outcome.
