Yep, capital will always find another investment if the current one does not perform as expected anymore.

The IKEA in Springvale has this tucked away bike rack while it also has plenty more space on the same level.

How would you account for it? Bit by bit? ๐
13.02.2026 01:52 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I tried that and the challenge with the Bullitt was to weigh the front down to keep the rear wheel up.
12.02.2026 21:25 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Agree, used it yesterday, too. I did run the rope through the frame between seat stays and seat tube. Even if I had a rear rack I am not sure I would trust it to hang the bike from. The double strap looks nice and stable, though.

Using a car makes that too easy. Put it on a cargo bike and you are committed ๐

12.02.2026 02:00 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Hate is a strong word in this context. It is more that people realise that it is difficult, uncertain and you know that you are not welcome. The are more inviting alternatives.

Safe bike-lanes mean business.
For crime you would always steal a getaway bike beforehand ๐
10.02.2026 20:50 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Looks good. Pedals or not, it should be categorised as a motorbike, require registration and insurance and should not be allowed on bicycle infrastructure.
I test rode an electric motorbike without pedals once. They are a nice ride but I would not switch from my cargo e-bike.

08.02.2026 02:35 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Agree, no point arguing. We agree that something needs to be done, we just promote different approaches. Good luck working with your council.
08.02.2026 01:56 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I completely agree, there should be a lot more regulations on cars to keep teenagers and pedestrians safe. ๐ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hierarc...
07.02.2026 23:07 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Indeed it is. Cycling is good for health, including e-bikes. What good are more regulations if we donโt even bother to enforce the existing ones? We have registered and licenced drivers speeding through schools zones. There is regulation, little enforcement and no call for more regulation for safety
07.02.2026 22:10 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0No, thatโs not what I said.
07.02.2026 21:38 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I donโt think it is a tiny problem but we donโt solve with more regulation but rather enforcement of the regulation we have.
07.02.2026 12:25 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The regulated top speed is 25 km/h. I doubt parents with children are tuning their bikes to hoon past schools. The fact that you consider side swiping a usual occurrence says more about the safety of cars than bicycles. And cargo e-bikes usually have child seats or a protective barrier.
07.02.2026 12:11 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The same applies to cars. And it is not a lot but rather a few people and fewer people get injured by bikes than cars.
07.02.2026 12:03 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I see registration and licence as unnecessary. Registration has been considered and dismissed by countries a few times as a reasonable fee would never cover the cost of administration. As for tuition, my kids had bike education at school. That should suffice.
