Also, friends, please be neighborly. I grew up in a neighborhood where I knew everyone on the block. They had my back if I needed them. I hate not knowing my neighbors.

Drinking that water now, and thanking the universe for the free water, but also feeling really bad for stealing a neighbor's water.

I live in a transient neighborhood, and though I try incredibly hard to know and meet my neighbors, sooo few of them have ever been interested in being neighborly, so I didn't recognize the name. 🧵

A few weeks ago, someone (door dash?) Left a 40 bottle case of water on my porch. There was a name, but no address, so I lugged it down to the street, so whoever was missing it might see it, and collect it. It sat there for two days. 🧵

Edit: It's apparently "Didi 7," and it is, in fact, still available.

Awake, and seemingly back to chronic insomnia, which I honestly haven't suffered from in years.

Insomnia as a teenager got me into classic television, pre-code movies, shortwave radio, and Conan O'Brien, among other things.

I know, logically, that the inability to keep a tidy house is not some kind of moral failing. However, that will not stop me from hating myself for living in a pigsty.

How many blessings I had already today. The nice lady who I held the door for and gave me a warm smile. The nice receptionist with the cute dinosaur pop-it on her name badge. The wonderful ultrasound tech. And my final thought for the day was: 🧵

Anyway I am exceedingly lucky they found the cancer and took care of it right away. But as a newly chronically ill person I'm really exhausted at the never-ending stream of appointments and specialists. But, as I was lying on the table today waiting for the doctor, I had a thought 🧵

Before I got the #hypothyroidism diagnosis, I told my doctor for years something was wrong and he told me I was "getting old." Friends, I was 32 years old. I knew something was wrong. My hairdresser knew something was wrong. Listen to your body.🧵

Posting this publicly because I want other ladies (and dudes of course) to know they aren't alone in this kind of thing. Keep an eye on your body and if you think something is wrong, tell people. If someone won't listen, keep telling people until you find someone who WILL listen. 🧵

So, for the first time I'm really dreading a medical procedure because I don't want to go through that again, but I guess I have to. It's probably nothing, and thank God I have insurance until T*ump takes it away, but man, I don't want needles near my boob again. 🧵

The last breast biopsy I had was honestly the worst pain I have ever felt in my life and that's saying something, because I have done a lot of suffering over the years. They must have known it was going to be bad, because they sent an extra nurse to hold my hand. 🧵

I had my first breast lump removed when I was 25 years old. So it's nothing new. I'm pretty tough. I have a very high pain tolerance, I guess (?) due to being in low-grade pain most of the time. Not much phases me. I'm not afraid of needles, or hospitals, or doctors, or anything... BUT 🧵
