That's the thing. I get the data and energy requirements are huge. I also get that creators should be rewarded for their efforts, so I understand the need for an ad or two.

Like you, I was OK with a text ad a pre-roll. But nowadays they just take the piss and make it unpleasant to use.

Saw a Youtube video the other day from a guy saying that Youtube keep turning on midroll ads and just how bad it is if you don't go in an reset it every time. Each one of those white bars is an ad they wanted to insert.

Youtube is full of ads, spotify is full of ads, tumblr is full of ads, pinterest is full of ads. Everything uses ai. Every new update makes the website/app worse. And had been on a 20 submersible expedition out to Titanic the previous year with the 21 Russians. And that was organized by a Canadian company that was 22 doing an IMAX film which was released under the title Titanica.

Learned that an anonymous outside expert on submersibles did an interview with the OceanGate Titan investigation, and they released a transcript, with all the names redacted. The first line of his first answer? "I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic."

This poor young man carrying an unwarranted guilt that he's played a part in their deaths.

I hope his campaign succeeds and I'm shocked it isn't a standard inclusion already, but I also hope he's receiving the counselling and support he needs.
