& not wanting to take a shower in cold water
Back in the day
Mothers & grandmothers would boil that water on the stove
Back in the day
They’d use old pots to piss in
If the toilet wasn’t working…

I can get 8 hours
I can still get 7 hours
I can still get 6 hours
I can still get 5 hours
I can still get 4 hours
I can still get 3 hours
I can still get 2 hours
I can still get 1 hour
*falls asleep for 5 minutes*
*alarm goes off *

The long shadows across the meadows, like lost strangers reaching out for ghosted fellows, cold seeping in deep within, we look for light in the bright dust of the morning frost.

like stepping into a cold shower early in the morning before work
in the end, hopefully, it leaves you well.
Like letting the car warm up before you go.

This little thread inspired me to write a little poem on overthinking which I tried my best not to overthink if it made sense or not 😅👌🏽

You would think a mind could whisper well
But a bunch of whispering thoughts begin to sound like yelling in my ears
And overthinking becomes thinking out loud
