Is it just me or does this pic of Pope Leo look like one of those plywood roadside attraction “stick your face in the hole/put your chin on the divot” thingies?

When nature takes him, as it takes us all, perhaps his entire obituary will simply read “quiet, piggy”

As a handful of us have been screaming for a long time now: there is no "ceasefire". The UN security council has approved the further colonisation of Gaza, and Israel is being rewarded for its genocide. It's still the 1700s in the West, we just have phones and cheap dopamine addictions now.

Businesses and government need to understand that it's not physically possible for billionaires to buy enough to sustain the global economy. Systemically making life more and more unaffordable for 99.9% of the population is not sustainable. To have consumerism, you need consumers.

Hey, since Patton Oswalt was reinstated, maybe Bluesky moderation can reinstate someone who was banned for doing the exact same thing.

I'm still struggling to assimilate the latest round of pedophile evidence. But it seems to me that if a political party cannot mount an effective opposition to a pedophile, either that political party shouldn't exist anymore or the country in which they're operating shouldn't.

If it's actually true that when prevented with compelling evidence that the President of the United States is an actual pedophile, a majority of voters decide to support him anyway, then the United States of America should cease to exist.
