A mug n' some doughnuts. I'm trying to practice lots of things a thousand different ways. I've done a dozen mugs, a few butterflies, some lamps and a closet today. Mugs, lamps, clocks, tables, windows, they all have a little something in common.

I love immersive theatre. It's so easy to set up and adjust for - when you've got the right pub to perform in! The London Fog encore was a sold-out success. I am sad it's now officially over (unless you know a pub 👀).

Truth -

I am dressed in a suit, a bowler hat, and am wearing a mustache. I have a quirky look on my face. One hand is pointing to the sky, the other is covering my crotch. Behind me there's a wood wall and a partly covered sign that says, "Tales from the London Fog."

London Fog. Every play pushes the envelope a little more. It's fun playing a cynical theatre critic. It's even more fun in a moustache!

❤️‍🔥 Two wealthy artists, Albert and Victoria, meet at an opening night afterparty and burn down their lives (quite literally) while making love as the flames consume the house.

Once the new Royal George Theatre is built and the old venue is refurbished to be used again at The Shaw Festival, can all of the new tax revenue go straight to the arts councils that have been sorely underfunded for years? Rather than paying for more infrastructure projects? That would be nice.

Jeffrey or Britney or Phillip or Caitlin or Marcus or Linda. This is a dog that needs a people name (but tbh I say this about all dogs). LOVE.

I attempted something I've always wanted to try. Mistakes were made. I prefer blending colours on canvas rather than painting on paper. But not bad given it only took... 30 minutes? I don't know. It's got personality.

I've started calling February "rejection season". The sheer volume of rejections in the theatre scene is brutal at the most depressing time of the year. It's amazing how much one little grant can do for the self-esteem, though.

Nearly every theatre actor in Canada is an established Canadian and the big companies will mooch off of the States when they find out we don't have the talent anymore rather than advocating for fixing the problem.

The problem is, it's an effect that's only felt over years. It's not immediate. They don't work with newcomer artists but the ones they work with were once newcomers. Less competition breeds mediocrity and it will impact the Shaw one day. But it will impact independent and regional companies first.

What's the point in investing $35 million in the Shaw Festival's rebuild if we won't have newly trained artists coming out of theatre schools in Canada to take over now that all of the theatre programs are being shut down in colleges and universities?

Actually it's harder because I have old drafts stuck in my head. Plus convincing myself to get out of edit-mode is nearly impossible. PLUS I am way too overconfident in my ability to learn my own words.
