If Chuck Schumer can’t bring himself to vote for the Democratic nominee for mayor, he should resign his position as Minority Leader.

Mike Johnson's lies keep getting lost in the facts The shutdown is exposing the speaker's slimy disingenuousness.

"The Republican Party has created an entirely avoidable mess for itself. By taking a resolute stand in favor of making healthcare unobtainable for many Americans, and now threatening to starve children to achieve that perverse goal, they have made performative cruelty their political calling card."

he won a Democratic nomination; his opponent murdered old people in nursing homes, sexually harassed his staff, and ran a viciously racist campaign while coordinating with donald trump.

if you can't take a stand here, what use are you? you're harming the coalition; your alienating voters.

The Scourge Of Wimpiness Terminal insecurity has damaged the Democratic Party's credibility more than any local policy choice or rhetorical trope.

Endless bickering over this stuff. But you might say the proof of the pudding is in the not eating shit. Newsom. Prop 50. The shutdown fight. That’s the path to restored credibility. www.offmessage.net/p/the-scourg...

Because Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans failed to extend ACA premium tax credits, 500,000 Pennsylvanians are going to see a dramatic increase in what they pay for healthcare each month.

SNAP BENEFITS, which increased by Billions and Billions of Dollars (MANY FOLD!) during Crooked Joe Biden’s disastrous term in office (Due to the fact that they were haphazardly “handed” to anyone for the asking, as opposed to just those in need, which is the purpose of SNAP!), will be given only when the Radical Left Democrats open up government, which they can easily do, and not before! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DJT

‘I don’t know anything about that’: Mike Johnson becomes the low-information House speaker Confronted with questions he should know how to answer, the House Republican leader has proven to be surprisingly ignorant about current events.

You’ve heard of low-information voters, but have you heard about the low-information House speaker?

It doesn’t matter what I think. Also, none of this would ever happen. But if I had a zillion dollars:

1. Run a “we do hard things” campaign across southern and rust belt states. Invest heavily in local, state and regional social infrastructure. Sponser later hours at a library, build a skate park…

hey @democrats.senate.gov, you're obsessed with polls. Check this one. You're doing something right. Rs are freaked. Don't fuck it up:

Dems are more enthusiastic about the midterms

and

Trump's "disapproval rating, at 63%, is numerically the highest of either term"

People fucking hate this guy. They fucking hate ICE. They fucking hate how much power he has. He is at 63% overall disapproval to 37% approval. That's lower than their poll after January 6th. And this poll was done before he started intentionally starving people. I wish our media would reflect this.

it's time for journos to start asking Johnson meta questions

"Speaker, on 5 occasions last week you said 'I haven't seen it' when asked about news events w/big implications for public policy. Do you ever read the news, and do you agree it's problematic for the Speaker to be so woefully uninformed?"

Yes! The media takeover has had a noticeable effect here in Hollywood, where creatives now have to take into account politics in addition to developing the best stories.

Feels like a soft black list, and getting worse.

Exploit The GOP's Nazi Meltdown Are we really going to accept the conceit that the central issue in politics is whether DEMOCRATS are too extreme?

If (knock on wood) Dems sweep Tuesday’s elections handily, can we ease discourse away from its obsession over whether Dems are too left wing to win, and take greater notice of the fact that Republicans are in a civil war over whether to be Nazis or merely lesser fascists?

03.11.2025 16:11 — 👍 1791    🔁 401    💬 36    📌 21

I think the issue is communication style. Every district has its own unique challenges, and politicians who are able to express why voters should choose them in a clear way that connects with their priorities is the model.

Between what came before and what happened tonight, Dems ought to treat encounters with CBS reporters as presumptively hostile and untrustworthy. A small thing, but there’s no way out of this disaster if the party continues helplessly submitting to unequal treatment from ~all mediating institutions.
