2:30pm today at #ICSE2025: Data scientists regularly use sketches to design data pipelines. My student @luisfgomes.bsky.social built a prototype tool to generate data science notebook code from sketches. We studied the sketches developers produce, and assessed utility, uses cases, & needs.

Very proud of my student @nikitharao.bsky.social, who wrote 7(!) papers and did an incredible amount of work to wrap up a fantastic PhD this Spring!

With the US speed-running its own collapse, any thoughts on the new best country for CS research? Bonus points for family-friendly options, but the bar is low.
