A moderate magnitude 4.2 earthquake hit 21 km (13 mi) away from Canas, in the morning of Monday, Nov 3, at 9.36 am local time. The quake had a very shallow depth of 6 km and was felt by many near the epicenter.

Landslides and flooded roads are reported in both directions along the road from Nuevo Arenal to La Fortuna.

Municipality of Tilarán informs that Thurs, Jan 30, the road to the condos will be closed for drainage works; this work consists of placing sewer steps to improve the flow of water and prepare the base before starting with the asphalt folder.
