Belfast is a fucking disgrace right now and the rot starts at the top. Racists are rioting. Vigilantes are roaming the streets. Paramilitary flags are plastered everywhere like a victory parade for fascism. And the PSNI? The big plan is to “look into it”. They’re too gutless to stand up to the far right, so activists and journalists have to do their fucking jobs for them. But wear a Palestine t-shirt? You’ll have half the PSNI on your back faster than you can blink. Peaceful protestors get battered and arrested, queer activists get harassed, but far-right mobs and paramilitary scum get a free pass. If you’re on the side of hate, the cops will hold the door open for you. The PSNI is not fit for purpose. It is a bloated, cowardly, politically captured disgrace, and the Chief Constable needs to be dragged out of that office. Our so-called Justice Minister is nothing more than a weak, useless figurehead who lets fascists dictate the rules. They both need to go now. And let’s talk about the political parties that are in on it. The ones who smile for the cameras while defending bigots, who spit bile at drag queens and trans people, all while turning a blind eye to Nazis running wild in our streets. This isn’t incompetence. This is complicity. It’s state-enabled fascism. And if you’re not incandescent with rage about it, then congratulations you’re part of the fucking problem.
