It’s so funny to watch people hyper analyze video games and brag about things like quitting and deleting a game they spent a hundred bucks on because a voice annoyed them. Meanwhile, the idea of “downloading an update” would have sounded like science fiction when I started.

Celebrated an anniversary on the weekend in Toronto, ate great food, went to the aquarium + "Little Canada" (miniature exhibit) during their pride event. It is fun to look at tiny buildings, people, sea creatures, and to eat good food.

I recently became obsessed with wanting one of these things. I swear someone in my fam had one back in the day. I'd imagine I'd mostly use the cassette portion, and think about how it looks like something out of MGS.

I was reminded of one of my fondest memories from playing live shows in Germany years ago:
This guy approached after I got off stage, wearing the expression of someone who just saw something they've never seen before, and says in a tone of voice to match: "Your music is....science fiction!"

And I was proud of having a partner with a wonderful team who ran a great campaign. in the winter, when nobody wanted an election, and turned it into a chance to continue advocating for people who needed it.

We're nearly at the end of the second election in 2-3 months here. It's a frustrating election for a number of reasons, but I am proud of the work being done by grassroots organizers and local progressives, esp. in the NDP. We have a wonderful candidate who puts in the work and cares about folks.

Bluesky was never meant to be where I participated in "discourse" but instead of deciding between committed fun/weird/cool stuff or talking about the rest, I just kinda "froze". I didn't want to choose between being posting like an annoying opinion aggregator, or someone delightfully complacent.
