I feel like people forget we are people who give a little of ourselves with each piece. With the culture of content creators, influencers, and over consumption so prevalent, expectations on artists are high and return low. I draw fanart to build community and show my love for a piece of media.

Government websites are not for partisan politics.

If Democrats wanted to gain some points with the public, they wouldn’t be gathering a paycheck right now and would very publicly be donating that to the people.

#UndeadOctober movie 26: Sinners (2025). Vampires attack a Black club in 1930s Mississippi. A film that is equal parts period piece, commentary, and horror film, and does all of them beautifully. Words do not do this film justice. Also, it has possibly the most satisfying ending ever. Excellent.

I am, but I have no taste for politics. There are people out there who are better qualified speakers and leaders. I am best put to work behind the scenes. Still, I don’t think the answer is the Democrats until the whole party has a nationwide reckoning and focus returns to workers; not themselves.

I have seen people give to the church until it hurt with promises of great reward.
I don’t think people really turn away from stuff like that until tragedy is upon them, their faith is shattered, and their leaders are shut down.
We may be seeing that now but it may be too late for some.

I wish I could trust Democrats to do their jobs. Unless they’re willing to give up their current tactics, we’re to have to create a new party for the working class like during the Gilded Age.

The only thing that has remained consistent is having my own homepage. I have to drive traffic there but if we could popularize things like webrings and such, it would be a big help. We need to get back to a pre social media type web. It’ll be less convenient but we can gain more individual control.

My entire time online I have been a digital nomad. I started a gallery on Elfwood with a good following, but things blew up there. I moved over to Deviantart. Built a big following. Nope. Y!Gallery is japut. OpenDiary, Livejournal, Sheezy, StickerMule. You make what you can until money ruins it.

There’s your “trickle down” right there. They dam up all the resources. If they won’t free the flow, it’s up to us to pry open the sluice.

Idk. I would have paid for ringside seats to that.

Generative AI is a societal disaster Governments are deluding themselves into believing investment justifies allowing AI to upend society

The AI industry wants us to believe AI superintelligence is the real threat from generative AI.

But that narrative was crafted to distract from the many ways genAI is being used to tear our societies apart, as we saw this week when a deepfake video rocked the Irish election. It must be reined in.

At the food pantry I volunteer at we were absolutely swamped today and by many first timers. We ran out of whole categories of food. Please donate cash to your local organization if you at all can.

The food pantry near our local comic shop was operating hours after the crowd normally disperses. There were still MANY families there receiving assistance. It absolutely broke my heart.
Our family intends to cut back on holiday spending this year and put that cash toward local food banks.
