First gig GC was Paul Weller at Crystal Palace as I loved very close by in 1997. Went with a mate. Tried to act like big men but efforts were undermined by being next to a woman out mother’s age who kept asking if we were hungry and wanted a sandwich. We were too polite to move. (2/2)

Afternoon GC what about “do nothing” - the specials ; “the way you do the things you do” - the temptations ; “don’t play that song” - ben e king or “don’t worry be happy” Bobby mc ferrin

Hi Gary - 3 by the Ramones: Do You Wanna Dance? Do You Remember Rock 'n' Roll Radio? Don't Come Close. Excluding being taken to see Kiki Dee at the Leamington Spa Centre in 1974 (aged 10), first 2 gigs were Stiff Little Fingers at Birmingham Odeon and The Damned at Birmingham Top Rank, both in 1980.

First 2 concerts...

Japan - Leicester De Monfort Hall on their final tour, c. 1983. Went on a coach with my friend Sid as we didn't get big gigs in Lincoln (our home town) back then

Marc Almond - Coventry Poly, fresher's week 1985. First of many gigs there, where I really caught the live music bug

From Essex and first two gigs were The Damned at Rayleigh Crocs in 1983 and a local band The Beat Of The Beast at The Castle pub (bit of a legendary goth/punk hangout) in Brentwood just after that.

Afternoon everybody

We’re back at #BBCRadioLondon at 1pm.

We’re asking for songs that start with Do or Don’t & what were the first two concerts you ever went to?

My pal Steven saw Louis Armstrong & Ella Fitzgerald in London in the late 60s!

What were yours?

Remembering Frank Wilson on his birthday. This test pressing of his Do I Love You (Indeed I Do) is on show at Third Man Records in Detroit. The price Jack White paid for it is secret, but it's been claimed to be the most expensive 7" single ever. Another copy went for £26K in an 2009 auction. THREAD

Sad news to wake up to.

I remember he came into GLR for an interview back in the 90s. Maybe with Johnny (Walker) and the building buzzin’ with excitement.

What a talent …what a legacy.

RIP Steve 🙏

Morning all

What a triple treat #MilesHunt is - singer, songwriter and a master storyteller.

We had the best night with ‘the lad himself’ at the #ExchangeTwickenham last night.
I’m still buzzin’ from it this morning 😃

Thank you so much Miles & all who came and made it such a memorable night.
